Olives in Wine Country Tours is how I describe the special ways I present the Olive in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties. Every method can be customized to your needs, desirers or interests. The following describes the unique approach I use to create a most memorable place and time in the world of the Olive.

From the beginning I was always interested in natural processes to make the Olive edible. That is why no lye is important to me. Second, as time went by in my early days of “Olivehood”, people were interested and curious about why I did what I did, and how I did it. Many people loved the unique Olive tastes. Some retorted the comment, “these don’t taste like Olives”. I knew that comment came from people that have only had the green Olives with the red thing stuffed in it, the black Olives you put on your finger tips or Olives from “The Olive bar”. At that time is when I started sharing my Olive knowledge. Then, teaching the processes and information at all sorts of gatherings. From garden clubs, wineries, social clubs to Community Education Department at Santa Rosa Junior College. My presentations were to groups of 10 or 20 people all the way to 200 people. The process was always fun and rewarding. Over the years I gained many new friendships. Eventually I dreamed of making the events memorable. A time in the Olive world people would look back on and cherish. Importantly, I am a “table Olive” person. I don’t produce Olive oil. Thusly, what I share in the Olive world is all about the Olive and “eating Olives”. Knowing the splendor of the Olive tree and the use of The Noble Fruit is two fold, Olives and Olive oil, I cover each because of their equal importance and people’s interests.

THE HOME OLIVE TOUR

Learn all about the Olive at The Olive Oasis, my home, in Sebastopol, California

The first special event type I’ll describe is a 4 hour one. Presented at my home, The Olive Oasis in Sebastopol, California. For 3 hours my presentation is all about the Olive. Being characterized as a class, workshop or seminar; discussion about the history of the Olive, the history of the Olive in California, the Olive and how to make the Olive edible is included. Followed by a full Olive lunch.

The variables all come from this example. Time spent in discussion can be any length, depth of information or content you wish. Extent of lunch can be widely varied. Now the fun begins.

Knowing that traveling takes time, this can be catered to what and where your interests in a day in the Olive world could be. All the arrangements will be made, to create a most memorable experience. Size of the groups creates needs to accommodate the varying numbers of people. At my home the group size would be smaller. At some of the Olive oil mills available group size can be much larger. Transportation of the group will be with limousine services, so any size is possible.
